Hiking the Salkantay and the ruins of Machu Picchu 5D/4N

Itinerary

Day 1 Cusco - Soraypampa

The collection of our passengers will be from 4:30 to 5:00 am. From your hotel passing by the localities as Izcuchaca and Limatambo. Our starting point is the town of Mollepata located at an altitude of 2850 meters, where we will be at 8:00 am approximately. Immediately depart for our first destination, passing through places like SORAYPAMPA Cruz Sayllapata leg and place where we take our food and then continue our path until we reach our camp.

Day 2 Soraypampa - Collpapampa

Since 7:00 am we will have our breakfast and then continue our walk to take us to the highest point on our route, the Abra Salkantay where we can observe Salkantay snow in all its glory. After three hours we will have lunch to continue our journey entering the jungle scenery on this stretch of river courses appreciate that then become tributaries of the Urubamba River, a variety of plants typical of the place, arrived to spend the night where collpapampa .

Day 3 Collpapampa - La playa

Day 4 La playa - Aguas calientes

We walk for about 5 hours we will have the good view of the mountain of Machu Picchu. Then descend to Hydro (1950m) where we took the train to enter the village of Machu Picchu (2050m), our lodging place.

Day 5 Machu Picchu - Cusco

Around 4:30 am we begin our ascent to the famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu where we will have a guided tour for about 2 hours and then have free time, the rest of the day you can take pictures or go to the mountain of Huayna Picchu. In the afternoon we return to Aguas Calientes to catch our train to take us back to Cusco.
